INSIDE THE MWF

Note: the following is a column of thoughts, opinions and observations. It's written with a deep passion for the professional wrestling industry as a whole, for the fans of wrestling and the athletes driven to live their dreams. Whether you agree or disagree with these words, remember that there's a voice that cares behind it, one that only wants to see every hard working wrestler and promoter succeed, and for every fan to leave a live event feeling they got value for their dollar, wanting to see live wrestling (both independent and major league) again and again. For that, I do not apologize.

Excitement and drama continues to build here in the Millennium Wrestling Federation. . .
The July MWF ULTRA (can you believe it's July already?) is on-line and is a winner. Two exciting title changes, including one hell of a match up with Jay Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa. Don't miss it. . .
The July Xtra: The John Cena Sr. Show should be on-line within the week. President Cena does his best John Wayne immitation when he challenges this MWF "stalker" to a showdown. Mr. Cena's interview with Tito Santana is an interesting one. . .
I have to say I totally agree with Cena's decision to fire Dave Cole once The Uprising decided to cut ties with him. Cole is the perfect example of everything that's wrong with professional wrestling in this day and age. He was a young man that accomplished absolutely nothing but was given a world of opportunity by the Millennium Wrestling Federation. He was successful to a point, but at the same time, he had J-Busta as a tag team partner and they were led by the former Johnny Fabulous behind the scenes. Instead of being grateful for the door opened for him, he closed it on himself. He was lazy and honestly didn't show a hell of a lot of heart for the king of sports. If rushing back to CT to hook up with a skanky, 12 year old sounding rat is more important that improving your skills, than good ridance. I honestly thought he had a lot of potential. . .the only person that held him back is himself. . .
ROAD TO THE GOLD news forthcoming, I'm looking forward to the event. Should be different from years past. . .
Work on SOUL SURVIVOR V continues at an almost obsessive rate. Big announcements are coming soon, including date, location and the biggest giveaway for advance ticket purchasers in our history.
I finally saw the edited version of the Iron Sheik Studio Shoot Interview II DVD tonight. It's a hell of a piece of business and well worth the $15 it's on-sale for. If you enjoy Sheik insanity, filled with swearing, screaming and shooting, this is for you. If you're interested in seeing a more real side to the Sheik, you'll get that, too. Parts of this shoot shocked me, and I didn't think there was much the man could say or do to shock me after the past four years. Once clips of this hit YouTube, I expect it to be as popular as the first, which is no small task. . .
Also very proud of the on-line numbers we put up for the month of June, shattering a big month in June 2007 and breaking our all time record for visitors in a month from last August (which included worldwide publicity on the Howard Stern Show). The Millennium Wrestling Federation's growth is impressive and motivational for those that put a lot of time and effort into growing this organization. Our sincere thanks continue to go out to the fans, as without you, there is no MWF. . .
Take care,
Dan Mirade

"It's sad what's become of our business. . .when we started, we had to earn the right to be in the ring" -- Tito Santana, being interviewed by Les Thatcher January 15th, 2008
