TNA:  Two Hour Impact II
Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Two hour Impact part two. . .last weeks show had a great main event and another mind-blowing hour and forty five minutes. . .

We open with Black Machismo vs Havok. . .Havok jumps Machismo before the bell. . .Machismo's ribs are all taped up, selling the attack from last week that pissed me off.  Christopher Daniels is at ringside keeping an eye on things as they have a X Division Title match at the PPV Sunday.  Lethal Combination followed up by a Savage like elbow drop from the top for the win.  Daniels throws the championship belt at Machismo after the match.  And that was it. . .wow. . .

Karen Angle showed up to the building alone. . .she says married couples have trouble. . .

Kurt Angle made his way to the ring wearing Sting's sons football jersey.  Mike Tenay said "it's time for an explanation" as to why Angle attacked Sting's son last week.  Angle says he wants to face the old Sting at Bound For Glory.  Maybe he'll come out with a blonde flattop.  Angle calls out Sting, but Karen Angle comes out.  Karen says it's been the worst week of their married life.  How could he go after Sting's kids??  They have kids.  Nobody cares about this bs.  Is this making you want to buy the PPV??  I wonder if this will be another one of those great swerves they did back in August when Karen turned on Samoa Joe.  Kurt asks Karen if he's with him or against him, then Sting comes on the video screen.  Sting says he's got the old Sting, and at Bound For Glory he's going to take everything from him.  A Sting dummy drops from the ceiling and Angle pounces on him.

Tenay and West run down the PPV line-up. . .I give them credit, at least they announce more matches than WWE for their PPV's. . .

Kevin Nash is in the back and calls out to Sting.  Nash asks if he can go up to the rafters and talks to Sting.  Nash asks Sting if this is the way he wants to go out, he says yes.  Sting tells Nash not to lose his edge. . .

The blonde girl interviews Ron Killings and Pacman Jones. . .lots of swearing bleeped out. . .

Killings & Jones vs Senshi & Elix Skipper. . .not a bad match.  It was good when Killings and Senshi was in.  Jones threw a football off of Senshi's crotch.  Jones threw money all over the ring ala the shooting in Vegas.  I can't see spending $25,000 a night on a guy that does nothing physically.  The Steiners hit the ring and they shake hands.  Scott issues an open challenge to Team 3D, who were nowhere to be found. . .

Team 3D was in the back, Bubba Ray said the Steiners mother was a pig and that they were going to take Team 3D wood and shove it down their throats.  That's quite a statement. . .

The Angles were backstage with Dr. Nash, who said it was time for a new strategy.  The same could be said for the booking headed into their biggest PPV of the year.  More pointless, bleeped out swearing.  I thought Jerry Springer went out of style ten years ago??  It will never sell a PPV, but Nash is a funny bastard. . .

We have some kind of a womens match, with a bunch of new women showing up for the first time (including old friend Talia).  It's Gail Kim vs Amazing Kong, who could have passed for Islander Makua before Fat March.  What a cool look Kong has.  All of the girls at ringside were selling the presence of Kong.  Kong goes over clean with a sitdown powerbomb.  Wow, this may have been the first womens match I enjoyed in years. . .

Don West interviewed The Guru. . .West was dressed up like a gypsy or something.  What the f'k is this doing on the go home TV to the biggest PPV of the year??  Does ANYONE think one fan wants to see this nonsense??  Is it going to make fans spend $30 on the PPV??  The Guru tried to work West into giving him cash for some fund he's starting up.  I can see this as being something funny to the boys in the back, but it's sure as hell not going to impress any fans over five years old. . .

Next up was "Chatting With The Champ," an interview segment with Christian and AJ Styles.  This was ridiculous, it looked like they stole the set from Carlito's Cabana on Raw.  It took me a minute, but why is this called "Chatting With The Champ" when Christian isn't the champion??  Samoa Joe was the guest, which I guess explains the Hawaiian shirts.  Joe shit all over the segment, which is probably what a million or so fans watching were thinking to themselves.  More bleeped out swearing.  This was just an extreme waste of time with three great athletes.  Joe trashed the set, AJ hit him with a ukulele.  The pointless Matt Morgan ran out and got rid of AJ.  Christian broke a coconut over Joe's head. . .this one will be about as memorable as when Piper did it to Rikishi in 2003.  You don't remember that??  Another bleep to end the segment. . .I was thinking the same thing. . .

The blonde interviewer had LAX and a lot of guys wearing bandanas.  The two hour show has given them more face time, which is a good thing. . .

Petey Williams vs Robert Roode. . .for the 300th straight weeks, nobody cares about Mr. Roode.  I wonder if he'll point his finger and yell at Ms. Brooks, only to have people continue not to care.  Mike Tenay reminds us that they were both part of the same faction at one point. . .WWE rarely goes down memory lane, which annoys me.  There was a bleep in the middle of this match and I have no idea why.  Williams worked his ass off here.  Williams went for Les Thatcher's favorite move, the Canadian Destroyer, only Roode caught him with the fisherman's suplex for the finish.  Roode wanted Brooks to slap Willams across the mouth but she wouldn't do it.  A lot of finger pointing and yelling. . .Kaz ran in to stop it.  More bleeping. . .I guess this builds the Kaz-Brooks-Roode triangle. . .

Angle went into the mens room, saying this is where you'd find a piece of crap like Sting.  Angle went stall to stall, only to find Rikishi in the middle of a bowel movement. . .

Abyss & Rhino vs Raven & Black Reign. . .makes sense where the four are squaring off in a four way at the PPV.  This is a no-DQ match, why??  Why not save the gimmick match for the PPV??  Ugh.  Thumbtacks, garbage cans, kendo sticks.  So what's the point of paying to see the one on PPV if I just got it all for free??

The blonde interviewer talks with Junior Phatu.  He said the name changes but the man stays the same.  After talking about the storylines in TNA, he says that there wasn't this much drama in WWE.  He teases the bowel movement throughout the interview.

The blonde is back with Matt Morgan.  He's the guest enforcer for the main event.  At least he isn't stuttering. . .

Main event time. . .LAX & Junior vs Kurt Angle & Team 3-D.  LAX in the main event two weeks in a row.  Another strong main event.  None of these guys are working with each other at the PPV (including the guest enforcer), but I liked it.  Team 3D had a hard time with the 3D on Junior.  Angle beat Homocide for the win.  Angle called out Sting while all of the guys wearing bandanas hit the ring to help Homocide.  Sting came up on the video screen and said he'd rather wait for the PPV. . or maybe not.  One of the guys in a bandana took it off and it was Sting.  He put him in the scorpion death lock, and that was that. . .

Show ended with some of the guys talking about how important Bound For Glory is to TNA. . .

I don't know, it seems like they could have done a better job building up the key money matches for the PPV.  I guess the buyrate will prove that statement right or wrong. . .
