TNA: A New Beginning Coming October 4th??

Show kicks off with extended highlights of last week. . .Dr. Nash visits with Angle and Karen. Dr. Nash warns of the two sides of Sting as the Angle's mark out over last weeks plot. . .comedy that isn't going to sell a ppv main event. Karen gets a "fan letter" that she puts in her pocket. . .Karen continues to pretend Sting hit her. . .ughhhh. . .is any of this making you want to buy Bound For Glory??
Show opens with the debut of Judas Mesias against Eric Young. . .no James Mitchell, though. This should have been a short and sweet one sided squash. This came off as slow moving and boring. Mesias didn't appear to be that much bigger than Young, I would have imagined this gimmick as a bigger guy. No Undertaker or Kane here. Shark Boy ran in to save Young post match and Don West says you have "to give Shark Boy credit for having the balls to save Young." Violent, bloody beatdown. Rhino ran out with a chair and Mesias headed to the back. I guess he's playing the late 1997 Mick Foley role in the Undertaker-Kane program.
In the back, AJ Styles, one of the best wrestlers in the world, was dressed up like an idiot on an island to try to pump up Christian for his match with Junior Fatu (Rikishi). Tomko wasn't in the mood for nonsense either, as he yelled at AJ to get him ready for his match later with Ron Killings. Christian tells Samoa Joe to watch what he's going to do to Fatu. He said he's never been pinned or submitted. Well, I guess that's true unless you've been to one of their house shows. That, and he's also lost the TNA Championship twice. . .
Highlight package of Team 3D and Steiners feud. . .just a couple of months after Scott was part of a beating where Abyss was sliced open by a barbed wire baseball bat and he's a babyface. . .
AJ Styles vs Ron Killings. . .Tomko and Pacman Jones are in the respective corner. Who do you think earns an easier payday, Pacman or Kevin Nash?? Jones almost got physical, as he spit in AJ's face and ran away. Nice commercial airs for MWF FULL THROTTLE September 29th with AJ Styles and Black Machismo in the middle of the match - can you ask for any better placement?? Killings goes over via pinfall, kind of surprised by that, I guess they want to keep the tag team champs hot even thought Jones' contract expires at Bound For Glory.
Karen Angle is in the back asking for the chance to apologize to Sting. She asks Sting to meet her in the ring later in the night. Geez, I wonder how this is going to go. . .
Back from the break, more Karen Angle. . .why not put her in the womens battle royal and give her the belt at the PPV?? She looks pretty good, though, but I don't know how many PPV's that's going to sell. She touts Angle as an eleven time world champion. Could that possibly be true?? Sting doesn't play the dumb babyface. . .he alerts her to the fact that the letter she got earlier was a restraining order and she can't come within fifty feet of him. She gets too close and gets tossed out of the building. Hopefully they'll keep her home for the PPV or she could turn into the Debra of Austin-Rock at WrestleMania 17.
Christian vs Junior Fatu. . .Fatu has changed his name to honor his family. I liked that one. Mike Tenay runs down his WWE accomplishments. Junior's big ass was covered up. A lot of comedy for a main event. AJ interfered in the end so Christian could roll him up in a bad looking finish. Rikishi splashed both after the match. Very risky for a guy that let him get so much on your top heels when he isn't under contact. Didn't like it. Tomko hits the ring and it's a three on one attack on Junior. Joe hits the ring and cleans house. I'd like to see Rikishi come in as a dangerous Samoan. . .
Show ends with Mesias choking out Sting with a noose in the back. . .why start up a new program when Sting is working Angle for the belt?? I don't know. . .
